The Foundation Review is the newest program area of the Johnson Center for Philanthropy [1] at Grand Valley State University [2] in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Purpose
The Foundation Review is the first peer-reviewed journal of philanthropy, written by and for foundation staff and boards and those who work with them implementing programs.
Our mission: To share evaluation results, tools, and knowledge about the philanthropic sector in order to improve the practice of grantmaking, yielding greater impact and innovation.
It provides rigorous research and writing, presented in an accessible style. Each issue of The Foundation Review provides peer-reviewed reports about grant programs including reports by foundations on their own work.

Editor in Chief
Dr. Teresa (Teri) Behrens is the Editor for The Foundation Review. Teri joined the Johnson Center in January 2009. Before joining the Johnson Center, Teri served as the Director of Evaluation for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation [6], providing leadership for the Foundation’s overall evaluation program.From 1995–2001, Teri consulted in program planning and evaluation for organizations such as the National Science Foundation-supported Industry/University Cooperative Research Centers.
From 1990–1995, Teri was a program officer for the Michigan Strategic Fund for the Michigan Department of Commerce.
Teri holds a doctorate in Psychology from North Carolina State University. She also holds a B.A. in Psychology and English from Case Western Reserve University.
